Opera in the Baroque Castle Waldegg:
The performances of "Apollo e Dafne" under the direction of Georg Rootering in the Waldegg Castle were a huge success. Andreas Reize conducted the cantus firmus consort, the two leading roles were sung by Andrea Lauren Brown (Dafne) and Dominik Wörner (Apollo).
The programme has been recorded for a live CD production on the cpo/DRS label.

Award for music from the Canton of Solothurn for 2009
Andreas Reize has been presented with the Award for Musik from the governing council of the Canton of Solothurn on November 17th, 2009, in the Cuturarena in Bieberist.

Award
The Buchsgau Chamber Choir and its conductor Andreas Reize have been awarded the "Pro Wartenfels Prize" for 2009. This prize will be granted to the conductor and chorus for their "extensive action this year". The awards ceremony is on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in Wartenfels Castle.

CD recording for the cpo label
Following the very successful recording of "Le devin du village" by J.-J. Rousseau, Andreas Reize and the cantus firmus consort will be recording "Apollo e Dafne" and orchestral works by G.F. Handel in August 2009 in a co-production with the Swiss Radio and the cpo label.

Concert in the Biel Kongresshaus
Andreas Reize conducts the cantus firmus consort on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. in a subscription concert of the Biel Symphonic Orchestra. The dramatic cantata "Apollo e Dafne" by G.F. Händel in a semi-staged performance as a revival from the summer will be included in the programme. The title roles will be sung by Dominik Wörner (Apollo) and Andrea Brown (Dafne). cantus firmus at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva 2012
The Solothurn cantus firmus vocal ensemble and consort with their conductor Andreas Reize are among the winners of the city of Geneva's advertised project competition for the Rousseau anniversary year in 2012 with the Baroque opera "Le Devin du Village" by Jean-Jacques Rosseau, which had been produced in the summer of 2006 at Waldegg Castle near Solothurn. This was announced by the city of Geneva at a recent press conference. Cantus firmus is slated to perform the opera in January/February of 2012 at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva. Additional performances, including guestings in Paris and Venice, are planned.

CD of Bach's Christmas Oratorio
A new CD with Cantatas 1 - 3 of J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio is to be released In November 2009. The live recording with soloists and the cantus firmus consort was produced during concerts in December 2007 and 2008. Parts 4 - 8 will be released in 2010. The CD can be ordered at www.singknaben.ch

J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio
The cantus firmus consort will be performing Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio with the St. Ursen Cathedral Boys' Choir of Solothurn on December 12th and 13th 2009. Andreas Reize will conduct parts I, II and IV of this popular Christmas masterpiece. The concerts will take place in the Jesuit Church in Solothurn. "The Christmas Oratorio for Children" will be performed as well, on Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the Konzertsaal, Solothurn, in the the setting by Michael Gusenbauer and in cooperation with the actress Monika Dierauer.
